The new elephants from Jump For Joy are simply too cute – especially jumping in the big pile of letters! I decided to create a shaker card for them to add to the fun.
I started by stamping one of the Happy Word Banners on a piece of white cardstock that measures about 4×5 1/4 inches. I also created a mask for the bottom of the banner, as I really wanted the letters to be “tucked in” behind the sentiment. I stamped and colored in the pile of letters, then using a craft knife and a ruler, I cut out the window for the shaker. I added acetate behind the frame I cut out and added foam tape around the edges on the back – I left quite a bit of space at the bottom of the window, so all the shaker filling could be hidden, adding to the surprise when the recipient gets the card.

Then I stamped, colored and die cut the two elephants and a bunch of the little single envelopes.
The single envelopes I also cut from craft foam and glued behind each of them to make them a bit thicker for my shaker filling, mainly so the sequins wouldn’t be laying on top of the envelopes when shaken.

Then I added all the shaker filling – clear and rose gold sequins in various sizes and of course the envelopes. To close the shaker window, I added a piece of light blue cardstock to the back and cut it down to match the white cardstock on the front.
Finally, I added the shaker piece to a black and white striped background and then a card base.
What an adorable shaker card! 🙂
