As soon as I saw the Birthday Bash stamps I knew I had to make a one layer scene with them – They’re perfect for this as there’s very little masking needed, since the scene is almost made for you already!
I started my background by stamping the gift and critter stack on my Neenah cardstock and a piece of masking paper. I only trimmed out the top of the image from the masking paper.
Then I stamped my first row of banners from the Swinging Borders stamp set, masked it, stamped the star balloons from Birthday Bash, followed by more masking and more banners.
Finally, I added the bricks with a Copic safe pen and a brick stencil.
Then I pulled out my Copics and started coloring – making sure not to have the same colored gifts next to each other. After I was done coloring, I added some white highlights with a white gel pen.
Instead of stamping the sentiment in the banners like I did with my IG Hop card from January, I decided to use the Hooray Script die, which I cut 3 times from white cardstock and once from gold cardstock. I layered the four die cuts with the gold on top for my own “chipboard” sentiment.
The smaller sentiment is from the amazing Birthday Messages stamp set, easily a set I can see myself using for most of my birthday projects – there’s just so many good sentiments!
I stamped it on white cardstock and die cut it with the sentiment strip die that fit in length – lining it up was so easy, as the edges of the die fit perfectly along the words!
