Stamp Highlight | Circle of Friends

Today the Mama Elephant design team is highlighting the new Circle of Friends stamps and dies, and I’ve made this fun “spinner” card.

Basically, the circle of animals turn inside the window, which makes it a fun interactive card.

To start off my card I die cut the purple front panel using the All Prettied Up die set. The window is pretty much a perfect fit for the circle of animals.

Then I die cut some masks using the matching cloud dies, and placed them on my card base, making sure they were inside the window. Then I could ink blend a light blue sky ion my card base – make sure to mark where the window is, or mask off the edges so you don’t get any blue around the outside.

Then I stamped my sentiment from Circle of Friends in the middle using some black ink.

Then I stamped, colored and die cut my Circle of Friends image, and I also cut 4 extra pieces of cardstock with the dies. I chose kraft cardstock, but you could do it in some fun colors too, or the same as your front panel. Then you simply glue all these layers together to form a kind of chipboard piece.

Now all that is missing is assembly! To make sure the “chipboard” piece would spin around, I used foam tape. To make sure my animals would remain visible I flipped over the front panel, lined up the animals and put the tape around them – leaving a tiny gap so they have a bit of room to move.
If you have it, add some anti-static powder to the edges of the foam tape. This prevents the die-cuts from sticking too much.

Finally I just had to adhere the front panel to the card base – I cheated and used some tiny pieces of washi tape on the front to hold in my animals while I lined the front panel up on my card.
