Stampede | November 2019

Welcome to the Mama Elephant Design Team blog hop!

Our newest release is now live and available for purchase in the store!

The November release is filled with great stamps and dies for the Lunar New Year.
I thought It would keep it nice and simple for today’s card.

I cut the three lanterns from Sakura Lanterns from red cardstock and used my gold gelly roll pen to outline all the edges, including the stitched lines in the lanterns.  This is easily done by leading the die cuts in the negative space, adding a bit of post it tape to the back, and simply running the pen along the cut lines.

On the bottom of a piece of white cardstock I gold heat embossed one of the sentiments from Lunar sayings. Then I cut the white cardstock down a bit and added it to a red card base. Using the gold gelly roll I drew around the edge of the white cardstock.

Then all I had to do was glue on my red lanterns.

  1. Thank you for sharing your creation, Mette. I love the lanterns and how you used gold pen to enhance the outlines.

  2. I love how simple and elegant this is! Deep red paired with gold is one of my favorite color combinations, and it looks fabulous here. Using a gold gel pen is a great idea for those delicate accents.
