Stamp Highlight | Beach Chickies

Today I have this simple and adorable card featuring the new Mama Elephant Beach Chickies stamps and dies, as well as the new Puffy Clouds dies.

As soon as I saw the kite flying chickie, I just knew I had to make a card with him – and what better than a cloud shaped card! So wasn’t I just lucky to have the puffy cloud dies in this release too – they’re just amazing with so many different sizes!

To start off my card, I stamped, colored and die cut my chickie – so simple and easy to make multiple since it just needs that one image.

For the card itself, I cut two of the largest clouds from the Puffy Clouds set, as well as two of the middle size. For one of each size, I ink blended a bit of blue to the bottom and sides, just to give the clouds a bit of depth.

Then I stamped my sentiment on the left side of the largest cloud – the sentiment is from previously released Carried Away stamp set. I popped up the smaller cloud next to the sentiment using foam squares – being careful not to add foam squares outside of the large cloud.

Then all that was left to do on the front of my card was add the chickie. The chickie itself was glued directly to the small cloud, while the string and kite was popped up with foam squares cut into tiny pieces.

To make my cardbase, I scored a line across the top of the large cloud, so I had a small area to add my glue, making a hinge to open the card. Then I glued the last small cloud to the very back so it matched up with the front cloud.

Wouldn’t these just be super cute as invitations if you change up the sentiment a bit, maybe just by masking off the Congratulations?
