Stamp Highlight | Peonies In Bloom

I LOVE my floral stamps – and most of all peonies – so you can imagine my joy when I saw the new Peonies in Bloom stamp set, it’s just so gorgeous!

As you saw in my stampede project, they look beautiful with just the outline – but I thought I’d try the opposite with today’s project, so I colored it up with my copics using the no-line coloring technique.

This is done by stamping the image with a light colored ink – I use the fade out ink from Ink on 3.

And then you need to be careful about where you add the shadows, as they are all you have to separate the different leaves etc.

When I had colored my images I used the matching dies to cut them out.

For my card I used a light grey card base, which I layered a piece of gold and a piece of white cardstock on, so there is a thin golden border.

So my flowers wouldn’t be floating on nothing, I used the tag die from the Artist Mat set and some text patterned paper to make a base for them.

To make the tag match the card base a bit, I used the die as a stencil to draw a golden frame inside the tag. Finally I added a piece of thread to the hole in the tag and tied a simple bow.

For my sentiment I used the Ribbon Banner die set, which fits beautifully around the tag, and stamped a sentiment from the Birthday Messages stamp set, I used grey ink instead of black, as it gives the same softer look as the no-line coloring.

Then all that was left to do was add the flowers to the tag, and pop the tag up on the card base using some foam squares.
