Lucky Red Envelopes

I was challenged by Tia Siew Shan in the Mama Elephant Friends Facebook group to create a Chinese New Year project.
Since it’s not something I celebrate at all it was quite a challenge – but I couldn’t say no!  So I started selectively stamping some images from the Little Dog Agenda stamp set, and added shorter ears, a piggy nose and a little tail to make small pigs. However, looking back, I wish I had made the noses just a bit bigger.

Then I made little red envelopes, you could use the Lucky Envelope die set from Mama Elephant for a similar result. One of them is cut from normal red cardstock, while two of them were watercolored using reds and oranges before I cut them out.

I decorated the envelopes with the Little Agenda Frames, which I white heat embossed on gold cardstock and die cut using the matching dies.
I also cut 2019 out of the same gold cardstock.

Before attaching my frames and piggies, I cut little white squares to fit behind them – to these I hand drew little branches with a black Copic multiliner, and used two different pink copics to add little leaves to them and scattering down.
